Writer/director Lichtenstein scores w/a black-as-pitch indie horror-comedy that construes as wholly literal the vagina dentata folk tale & uses the toothed vagina as a metaphor to explore blossoming womanhood, gender relations & sexual politics. Though not flawless, this well-written, well-acted new cult classic starring the terrific Weixler doesn’t shy away from gore w/blood-spurting stumps galore, fingers & “other.”
