Despite Brittany Murphy’s irresistible adorableness as new producer on an Oprah/Maury-style talk show, her performance can’t salvage a film that doesn’t know on what topic it’s commenting. The trust we place in others’ honesty? Our privacy’s vulnerability in today’s technology-fueled world? The hypocrisy of “reality” television? More than anything else, underscores the terrible loss we’ve suffered w/Murphy’s passing.
